Big News!

I landed a regular, steady freelance gig with a major tech website! I'll start around Wednesday, July 1, or thereabouts.

I can't reveal the place you'll see my spastic writing just yet, but I promise to break the news on Monday, June 29. Watch this silly space for more!

This is BIG, folks. It'll put bread on my table, it'll give me a place to write tech for my loyal readers, and it'll keep me solid in the tech industry. And it's only the first freelance market I've spoken to.

I'm an author, analyst, and general, all-around journalist with twelve years of experience covering the gaming and technology industries. I got my start as PC Gamer's first Technical Editor in 1997, but when the pricing of San Francisco Bay Area homes turned out not to be a joke, my wife and I fled back home to the Rochester, NY area.

There I freelanced for a while before, in 2000, I nabbed a Senior Technical Editor position--working from home--for CNET's Gamecenter. The dot-bomb claimed that subsite and I once again took to freelancing. Loyd Case of ExtremeTech discovered me and eventually hired me in 2007, and I telecommuted for that incredible site for more than two years before Ziff Davis saw fit to lay off the entire staff.

That brings us to now, with me freelancing once again. The School of Hard Knocks and I aren't on very good terms. The freelance market, to put it plainly, sucks.
